Pulmonary fibrosis is a life-threatening condition that impairs the lung function. It causes lung scarring, thickens the lung tissues and also affects gas exchange in the air sacs. Breathing becomes difficult when the hard, stiff lung tissues don’t expand as well as they should. This results in a drop in oxygen supply to other organs, affecting their function.
