FijiBula Vinaka Mrs Mohandas,
Happy New Year to you.
This email is long overdue as I had planned to send you this note as soon as we arrived to Fiji a month ago.
Firstly, it was such an honour for my husband Mosese and I to meet with you during our stay at MIOT. Thank you for your time. We look forward to meeting you here in Fiji.
Same as last time, saying goodbye to our Level 3 Zone 3 family was difficult. Our sincere thanks to the nurses and Dr. Abinaya for looking after us so well.
Our sincere gratitude also to Dr. Dhillon and of course Dr. Kharthik for looking after us. We look forward to the opportunity our fellow Fijians will have to see them when they visit our shores.
I had mentioned in my testimony about how in awe I was at the care given to me at the ICU. As small as they are, their strength is amazing. This also rings true for the little Vandhna the physio who took me for my walks.
I also wish to acknowledge Dr. Trevor Nair whose early morning visits I looked forward to for his words of encouragement that uplifted my spirit at ICU.
Sincere thanks also to Kavita the physio who looked after me when I was back in the ward. Along with the nurses Sumaiya, Jisha, Ahoba, Anu, Hindu Priya, Durga and a nurse I called Healthy and the ayas.
Nurse Elizabeth Alexander our ‘go to’ person for everything. What an absolute gem! Please also thank Dinesh Ravichandran for the wonderful hospitable person he is even while running around organising fixes during the cyclone.
I celebrated my 44th birthday at MIOT and was pleasantly surprised by the floor staff, and dear Ram the restaurant staff entering our room singing happy birthday. I was honoured to have cakes delivered to me from the restaurant also which was truly moving.
We can truly attest to your ‘Language of Care’ in its entirety.
Huge thanks also to Suresh and Arun who we are still asking to give us a couple of spare minutes for lunch or dinner here to reciprocate their kindness…..they are just too hard working.
We had a successful launch of MIOT last Wednesday. True to form, Dr. Prithvi floored everyone with his eloquence.
This was meant to be a short note however I seemed to have rambled.
Again, a big ‘Vinaka Vakalevu’ from Moses and I. God bless you, your family and MIOT.
Kind regards
Moses and Litia
