I am the father of Naysa Maame Afia Appeadu Malcolm. Maame Afia who was 2 months old then was diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosus and underwent open heart surgery at Miot hospital last year. Exactly a year today, you led a team of Doctors to correct the congenital heart disorder.

On behalf of my wife and the entire family, I would like to express our profound appreciation to Dr. Coelho, Dr. Noveen Davidson, Dr. R. Satish, Dr. Omprakash, Mr. B.Raghuraman, Mr. V. Somanathan and Mrs. J.Sesili. We are also grateful to Dr. Sangeetha Viswanathan for her role even while we were in Ghana and yet to travel to India for the surgery, in conducting and supervising the various tests when we came and after.

We would also like to thank all the staff at Miot Centre for Children’s Cardiac Care especially the nurses at the C4 floor, staff of the pantry and laundry who took care of Maame and my wife and I while we were there.

A year on, Maame is 1 year and 2months old, weighing 8.2kg and walking and acting like any other child.
