The 32nd Indo-German Orthopaedic Foundation (IGOF) ‘Master Course in Shoulder and Knee was held from 27th February till 1st March, 2025. Over 1000 orthopaedic, rehab, and physiotherapy specialists from around the world participated. The workshops, paper presentations, robotic-assisted total knee replacement live demo, the Grand Quiz, and more provided a wealth of knowledge for eager minds. The event was a great success and will further strengthen MIOT’s orthopaedic technology and expertise, ultimately advancing MIOT’s goal of enhancing healthcare.

The Grand Orthopaedic Quiz

The Grand Orthopaedic Quiz was conducted in the IGOF Master Course at MIOT International. Medical professionals with a passion for orthopaedics participated in this challenging competition. The brains with the sharpest IQ won the quiz, proving their expertise in the nation’s premier battle of medical brilliance. IGOF proudly congratulates the winners and runners-up, who were honoured with cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Winner: Dr. R. Vinoth Kumar, Dr. Mohammed Asif & Dr. Jaiganesh – Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Super-Speciality Hospital, Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai.

Runner-up: Dr. Ragunath, Dr. Adithyaa S, Dr. Vignesh Velavan – Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai

MOHANDAS – WELLER GOLD MEDAL AWARD

The prestigious Mohandas-Weller Gold Medal Award was presented to young orthopaedists for their innovative ideas and distinguished presentations on complex cases.

The winner of the award was Dr. Sreehari Sreedhar from AKG Memorial Co-operative Hospital, Kannur, for the paper titled “Coraco-Scapular Line in Shoulder Instability,” and the runner-up was Dr. Iniya Prasanna Raajendiren from Ortho-One Orthopaedic Specialty Centre, Coimbatore, for the paper titled “Simple vs. Horizontal Mattress Suture in Bankart’s Repair.”

This esteemed award was established to nurture budding talent, encourage lateral thinking across various fields of orthopaedics, and inspire a keen interest in solving complex cases.
