In recognition of MIOT Hospitals’ remarkable efforts and contributions to healthcare, Dr. Prithvi Mohandas, Managing Director of MIOT International, was honoured with the prestigious Dinamalar ‘Malar Makudam’ award. This esteemed accolade was presented by Dr. Ma. Subramanian, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu, in the distinguished presence of Dr. A. Chellakumar, Member of Parliament and the General Secretary of All India Congress, as well as Dinamalar newspaper publisher Mr. L Adimoolam, Publisher of Dinamalar’s Puducherry Edition, Mr. K. Venkatraman and co-editor of Dinamalar daily Mr. R. Krishnamurthy. The event took place in Chennai on the 19th October, 2023.

Since our inception, we have remained dedicated to research and innovation in orthopaedics, continuously exploring new treatments and techniques that enhance patient outcomes. We are honoured to be recognised and awarded this prestigious ranking.

Since the start of the pandemic, MIOT has been helping patients overcome COVID-19 not just physically, but even mentally. Issues like work stress, job insecurity, pay cuts, uncertainty over children’s education, strained relationships, increased household work and zero social life also made patients feel locked up. Responses like fear, anxiety, anger, sleep disorders, restlessness, depression, post-traumatic stress and other emotional responses can take a toll on an individual’s overall health and mental well-being. In some cases, it may even lead to self-harm. Many felt trapped by stress and anxiety-related issues or emotional responses stemming from losing their dear ones to COVID-19.

Having understood the importance of emotional support in these trying times, MIOT was the first to identify and reach over thousands of people through its ‘Unlock Your Mind’ campaign to help those impacted by COVID-19. The campaign’s real objective was to make the general public aware of the emotional stress they carried due to the various facets of the inevitable lockdown. The campaign helped many realise their emotional problems and how a solution was offered by MIOT for addressing them at the early stage by unlocking their mind to our psychiatrist.

Due to strict lockdown regulations, conducting camps, consultations or workshops was very difficult. Through this campaign, MIOT managed to reach out to thousands of people with emotional issues, via different medium (Print, Social Media Platforms webinars, & live interactions). The team answered every single question thrown at them. Seeing this interactive campaign becoming successful, MIOT extended it through a series of webinars on mental well-being. MIOT also conducted webinars at schools, colleges and corporate companies to help those mentally affected by just staying at home during the lockdown.

MIOT’s expert psychiatrists answered many calls which helped in treating emotional and behavioural difficulties in people of all age groups. The answers to the general public were published in the local newspaper, so that others could also benefit from them. This campaign was extended not just to the people of India but also across the globe. We are happy and proud that this initiative has directly helped thousands of people overcome trying times and made a difference to their lives.

MIOT International has achieved a new milestone of excellence, by receiving a prestigious award for the 7^th time. The hospital has been conferred with the FIEO Southern Region Export Excellence Award (Gold) 2017-18 under the category of Top Service Provider, by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations.

FIEO Southern Region Export Excellence Awards is a widely recognised event, with an illustrious selection committee including senior officials from financial institutions, customs, state governments, the office of the DGFT, and the GST council. The event sees the participation of leading exporters from across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, and Telangana. MIOT International was chosen as the winner of the award, after an exhaustive analysis of parameters such as export turnover, growth, product diversification, and presence in emerging markets.

India’s No. 1 Orthopaedic Hospital – Ranked by “OUTLOOK HEALTH” Magazine (April 2022)

Ranked 1 in India amongst 1650 hospitals:

The survey was conducted by NEB Research across 1,650 hospitals in 12 cities that are major healthcare hubs. An elaborate questionnaire was sent to all the hospitals to collect factual information based on multiple parameters, from accreditations and quality of care to infrastructure.

Additionally, a perceptual survey was conducted among 2,210 healthcare experts across the 12 cities. The process was also supported by secondary desk research with the help of Central Government healthcare bodies as well as medical publications and online sources.

The analysis and final ranking of hospitals was based on the total number of nominations received, ranks given, and the ratings on the parameters comprising desk research, the factual score and the perceptual survey.

The prestigious ranking of India’s No. 1 Orthopaedic Hospital is an incredibly special milestone for us at MIOT International. We continue our journey of care with our eyes firmly set on building a healthier future.

At The Times Group’s ‘Times Healthcare Achievers 2020’, which was held on 30th January 2020, MIOT International swept three awards in the ‘Achiever – Established Hospitals’ Category for excellence in: 1) Cardiology, 2) Haematology, Haemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant and, 3) Endocrinology. This prestigious awards ceremony is held annually to recognise, highlight and celebrate the success stories of many pioneers and innovators in the state’s healthcare sector.

During the glittering Radio City ICON Awards ceremony on 10^th September 2019, MIOT International was presented with the prestigious “Excellence in Healthcare – Super Specialty Hospital“.
